4-115 234 Easthampton Road Erosion Control April 12, 2010 Richard Carnall Duseau Trucking PO Box 24 129 Elm Street Hatfield MA, 01038 RE: Former P. Allen Landfill, 234 Easthampton Road, Northampton. Parcel 44-115, DEP File 246-622 Dear Mr. Carnall: Thank you for providing the Conservation Commission a tour of the Easthampton Road former landfill site on March 31. Based on the site conditions, it is suggested that the following action be taken to stabilize the slope, promote vegetation growth, and complete the project. The slope should be seeded with a native erosion control seed mix. The toe of the slopeshould be stabilized with a fiber log along the stream to limit runoff and promote plant growth, and a biodegradable straw wattle should be also installed along the midpoint of the slope. Alternative methods are also available, however, no non-biodegradable materials should be used. Please contact the Conservation Commission if you planto use a method that differs from the plan outlined in this letter. Please contact me if you have any questions or concerns. Thank you- Sarah LaValley Conservation Planner
