Upon the recommendation of the Community Preservation Committee
23.312 An Order to Appropriate CPA Funds for Forbes Library Restroom Ventilation Project
Ordered, that
WHEREAS, the Trustees of Forbes Library submitted a CPA application for bathroom
ventilation upgrades at the library;
WHEREAS, the project will address building code requirements, and will adhere to the
Secretary of the Interior’s Standards for the Rehabilitation of Historic
Properties;
WHEREAS, Forbes Library is valued not only as a National-Register listed historic
resource and Presidential Library, but as a critical public space accessible to
the entire community;
WHEREAS, on March 15, 2023, the Northampton Community Preservation Committee
voted unanimously to recommend that $66,500 in Community Preservation
Act funds be used to support this project.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT ORDERED,
That $66,500 be appropriated from Community Preservation Act funding to the Forbes
Library for the Bathroom Mechanical Systems Improvements project. And, that the
grantee meets the conditions approved by the Community Preservation Committee, the
Mayor, and City Council.
Specifically, $66,500 is appropriated from the CPA Budgeted Reserve (account
#2344930-359930).
