Dear Ms. LaValley
As an avid bicyclist and Board member of the Friends of Northampton Trails, I am
pleased to add my support to the Planning Office’s application to the Community
Preservation Committee for funding for the CT River Greenway multi-use trail linking
the Damon Road area to the town of Hatfield.
Our organization has worked closely over the past 16 years with the City to identify
and develop a user-friendly network of greenway and rail-trails throughout the city.
The CT River Greenway multi-use trail will add critically needed connections to open
space and existing neighborhoods. The trail will benefit
residents and workers who will walk and ride bikes safely to jobs, shopping and
errands
the general public’s access to a great conservation area;
visitors and residents the city who will more readily explore and enjoy more of
the city’s trails and conservation areas.
