We are writing this letter in support of the grant application submitted by the Trustees of
Smith Charities. The purpose of the requested grant is to make needed structural and
aesthetic repairs to their beautiful historic brownstone in which they have conducted
business for many years.
We have had a long business relationship with Smith Charities, beginning in 1972,
when we got our first mortgage loan to build the home that we still live in today. Over
the years, we have applied for and received several additional loans. The process was
always a pleasure working with your competent and friendly staff. We always paid in
person so that we could visit briefly with your employees and admire your beautiful
building. We are looking forward to a continuing relationship with Smith Charities.
In closing, we hope you will find that Smith Charities is deserving of the grant that they
have requested. Not only will it benefit Smith Charities, but will also enhance the
esthetics of Northampton's Main Street.
