When the Center for the Arts was looking for a new home, St. Cantius declined: clearly showing their lack of support for the greater good. Ultimately a private developer acquired their property, and a handful of very vocal residents insists it be treated as a city asset. It is not. A failing congregations’ 100 years of history is not “good reason” to divert public funds into a private development.
