While I have often been curious to see the interior, and I have been extremely interested in the history of the Polish community in our ward, I am doubtful whether public monies should be used to protect the exterior. It is a shame that the church was sold for development and a shame that it can't be repurposed for the public. Those are mistakes of the past. Now, at this time, it feels inappropriate to devote $500, oo0. to a private developer. I would focus instead on doing a demolition by a certified preservation salvage company, where whatever interior or exterior features of value can be repurposed for other uses.
