Order of Conditions
MassDEP File No. 246‐0759
23 Randolph Place
Northampton, Massachusetts 01060
To Whom It May Concern:
As required in the above referenced Order of Conditions (OOC), GZA GeoEnvironmental, Inc. (GZA,
applicant), Soil X Corp (the applicant’s drilling subcontractor), and Eversource Gas Company of
Massachusetts (EGMA, owner) acknowledge that we have received, read, understood, and will
comply with the OOC.
As required by Condition 21 of the OOC, GZA proposes the following sequencing for
erosion/sedimentation controls and construction:
Mobilize to the Project Area and establish soil erosion and sediment control Best
Management Practices (BMPs), including linear erosion control barriers (straw wattle)
around areas of proposed ground disturbance.
Meet with Conservation Commission to review sediment and erosion control placement.
Drill borings and install monitoring wells. Monitoring wells will consist of 2‐inch diameter
schedule 40 PVC. Annular space around the well screens will be backfilled with clean filter
sand, followed by a one‐foot bentonite clay seal, followed by clean material to ground
surface.
Collect impacted soils, if encountered, into DOT‐rated 55‐gallon drums and transport offsite.
Restore areas of temporary disturbance and apply clean loam or topsoil as needed.
Apply wetland seed mix and mulch disturbed wetland areas including around boring
locations and access.
Restore other temporary impacts, including gravel parking lot of 32 Smith Street property as
appropriate.
Meet with Conservation Commission to assess Site stabilization.
Demobilize from Site.
Return to Site after final stabilization to remove temporary BMPs, as appropriate.
GZA, Soil X Corp, and EGMA are currently assessing site conditions and scheduling issues and will
provide an anticipated timeline for the work as soon as it is known.
