Description of the Proposed Project [24 CFR 50.12 & 58.32; 40 CFR 1508.25]:  This ongoing project seeks to protect two vulnerable populations in Northampton: (1) tenants who are at risk of eviction and homelessness (with a priority for tenants with subsidized housing), and (2) participants in rental assistance programs (Section 8 and MRVP) who are at risk of having their subsidy terminated. During the grant year, CLA will publicize the grant to community partners and the housing court, engage in cross referrals with other agencies, and provide individualized legal services to eligible tenant households, including advice and counseling; preparation of court pleadings and other legal documents necessary in eviction cases and subsidy termination hearings; and representation in mediation, trials, and administrative hearings.
