I write in support of Historic Northampton’s application to the Community
Preservation Committee for funds to modernize and preserve the historic
Shepherd Barn on its campus. Though the stated uses may seem outside the
mandate for use of CPA funds, I believe the best way to preserve a building is to
use it, and have it included in regular maintenance. I am sure the directors and
staff will do a good job of reuse while preserving the character of this early 19th
century structure.
Sincerely,
Steve Strimer
