Dear Sarah,
I am writing to express my support of Valley CDC's request for $1M to support the re-development of the former
Northampton Nursing Home, as I have a scheduling conflict at the time of the upcoming meeting. The former nursing
home has been empty for many years now, and it would be wonderful to see it be repurposed for something that is so
greatly needed. More available affordable housing will allow Northampton to continue to house our existing residents,
who are currently unable to find housing that they can afford, as well as provide housing to folks who are newly
arriving, such as refugees from Afghanistan and elsewhere who are seeking new home.
Thank you for your consideration of this partnership with Valley CDC to create an additional 60 units of much-needed
affordable housing in our city.
