[1] Note 5 on plan sheet LC- 100 appears to state the vertical datum on the plan is based on NAVD88. The current
flood plain mapping for Northampton is based on NGVD29, and there is a conversion factor that must be used.
Was that done? Was the flood plain elevation taken only from the FIRM or was it used in conjunction with the
Flood Insurance Study (FIS) flood profile data, as the regulations require?
[2] Please note that the plan only shows an approximate location of the MAHWL of the perennial streams/rivers.
The Mill River is a Cold Water Fishery Resource.
[3] MassDEP Guidance on acceptable improvements per 310 CMR 10.58(5)(a) include, but are not limited to:
1) Significant net reduction of impervious surfaces;
2) Planting of indigenous plant species;
3) Removal and proper disposal of noxious but otherwise legally located materials
