Project Summary: Please provide a brief description of the project.
Our goal at Ryan Road Elementary School is to upgrade our 25-year-old playground to serve as a fully inclusive play area that welcomes children of all ages and abilities to play, learn
and grow together. The playground currently receives a high volume of use and these upgrades would be beneficial not only to the students of RRE, but also to the families in surrounding
neighborhoods, as well as the wider Northampton community, due to the adjacent fields used for the Parks and Recreation Department programs.
CPA funds, in conjunction with assistance from the Disability Commission and funds raised by our PTO, would be utilized to make the necessary upgrades that would enable all children
to experience meaningful play and the benefits of physical, cognitive, social and emotional development. These changes would go beyond simply making the playground wheelchair accessible
and ensure an inviting playground experience for the children in our community.
