Subject: 99 King Street, Northampton - Stormwater Issues Resolution
Date: 7/6/2018
T Reynolds Engineering (TRE) met with Duffy Willard Paving & Excavation and Doug McDonald
regarding the finding noted in the 99 King Street, Northampton, Stormwater Inspection and
Recommendations memo dated 7/24/17. The meeting including myself, Frank Willard, Tom Fenton and
Doug McDonald. During the meeting the findings of the above mentioned memo were discussed and a
revised solution that will allow the project to be brought into compliance and obtain a Certificate of
Compliance as required under the Northampton Stormwater Permit was agreed on.
The following items have been agreed on to be done by Duffy Willard at their expense and are also
agreeable to the representatives of Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish;
TRE is recommending the following improvements be made to the grading and structures listed below:
OCS #2 - Move the outlet control riser to outlet pipe. Riser INV should be adjusted to match the
difference between the dry well pipe INV and Riser INV shown on the plan (1.35'). The new top
of riser should be set at 137.68
OCS #3 - Outlet control riser should be replaced to include all specified orifices with all
elevations raised 0.33' to match the difference found in the detention basin elevations. Outlet
control inverts are as follows;
o Top of Riser, 5" horizontal orifice =136.88
o 4.9" orifice=134.85
o 2.5" orifice=133.33
o 12" INV Out=133.22 (existing)
Add H20 rated Area Drain on the southern edge of the entrance drive just below the radius where
the high point "BC 136.5" is specified. The structure rim will be set to match the existing grade
(approx=136.4). The new area drain will be tied into Catch Basin #5 using 6" sdr35 PVC pipe
cored into the structure. The Inv into catch basin #5 shall be set no lower the existing invert out
and shall be run to the new area drain at a minimum slope of 1%.
TRE will provide limited observation of the installation of the above listed structure repairs.
