20 Ladd Ave Outlet Summary.pdfBerkshireDesignGroup July 21, 2021 Sarah LaValley Conservation/Preservation Planner (CPA, wetlands) 125 Locust Street Northampton, MA 01060 RE: 20 Ladd Ave – Order of Conditions Appendix A Item 35 Summary of Outfall Condition Sarah, The purpose of this letter is to address item 35 in Appendix A of the Order of Conditions issued by the Conservation Commission to 20 Ladd Ave (MassDEP File Number: 246-0749). Item 35 ordered the condition of the existing outfall from the onsite catch basin to the Mill River be assessed and documented prior to the pre-construction meeting. Two existing catch basins are located at the site, as shown on the attached ‘L3.0 Utilities Plan’ (revised 7/15/2021). Catch Basin #1 has been found to have a 4-inch outlet. The outlet carries water, but the outfall could not be located. Catch Basin #2 has been found to have a 12-inch HDPE outlet in good condition. The pipe was clogged at the time of inspection but has been cleared and is currently functional. The original NOI plan called for discharge to Catch Basin #1, due to a more convenient connection point. Based on this new information, the system has been updated to make use of the 12-inch outlet from Catch Basin #2. Catch Basin #1 will be retained and drainage will be routed through the structure. Please let us know if you have any questions on this information, or if the Commission requires any additional information. Sincerely, Berkshire Design Group Chris Chamberland, P.E.
