ENGAGEMENTJWA-2021.1.11_Due Dilligence Study_NCRH-SIGNEDJanuary 11, 2021 Wayne Feiden City of Northampton 210 City Hall Northampton, MA 01060 L E T T E R O F A G R E E M E N T RE: Due Diligence Assessment of 244 Main Street Dear Wayne: Jones Whitsett Architects is pleased the following assessment services to the City of Northampton at 244 Main Street. Review Building Code and Architectural Access Code compliance Review of Mechanical Systems supporting Heating and Cooling Review of Electrical Systems and Capacity Review of Plumbing Systems and Capacity Review of Fire Protection Systems and Capacity Review of structural system and exterior masonry annotate deficiencies, infill and seismic requirements, and determine level of alteration of proposed re-use Review of existing slate roof condition Determination of immediate and long-term maintenance recommendations for existing building and systems This scope includes one meeting to review the outcomes with you and your key staff. Our team for this project includes Stephen Greenwald of Renaissance Builders for construction cost estimates; Ryan Hellwig, Structural Engineer; Mike Trczynski and additional staff from Hesnor Engineering; Jack Mahan of Mahan Roofing and various members of Jones Whitsett Architect’s staff with Dorrie Brooks serving as Project Manager and Principal Architect. We will provide these study services for a lump sum fee of $ 9,500. If extra services are required, they would be supplied on an hourly basis, at the following rates: Principal $170/hour Engineer $140/hour Staff Architect $110/hour Staff technical services $90/hour We can begin upon Notice to Proceed, and if we have access to the building and site as needed, it should be completed in 4 weeks. Should additional engineering services, survey work, wetlands mapping, or envelope testing be required, we can arrange for such services at cost plus 10%. Routine telephone, copies and facsimiles are included in the above fee. We bill monthly, for work completed to date. Payment is expected within thirty days, after which interest will accrue.
