Amber Lane-Let's Build a Parklet flyer LET’S BUILD A PARKLET… TOGETHER! Green space is at a premium in downtown Northampton. For such a bustling stretch of commerce, there aren't a lot of spots to: <hit pause> <sit & relax> <catch up with friends outside> What’s a Parklet? Parklet = Mini Park! The concept was born out of San Francisco’s wildly successful program that encourages business owners and community members to break up the monotony of urban cement- scape with a “sit friendly” green space. One Amber Lane property owners, Em and Fitz, identified 200 square feet of “surplus city property” nearby and approached the City about its redevelopment. With the full support of our City Council and Mayor Narkewicz, this land will now be a Parklet for YOUR enjoyment.
