smith chairties support letterNorthampton CPA Committee City Hall ATTN:  Sara LaValley 210 Main Street Northampton, MA 01060     Dear CPA committee,   I am one of the School Counselors and the Guidance Department Head at Smith Vocational and Agricultural High School.  I have been at the school for over five years and I had never had the luxury of stepping foot into the Smith Charities brownstone building at 51 Main Street until the spring of 2020.  I was amazed at how gorgeous the building is, inside and out.  Each year a representative of Smith Charities comes to our school and presents to our eligible and deserving tradespeople.  The students that complete the application are then able to use that money towards student loans or to purchase the necessary tools to further their trade.    I can only imagine the cost needed to maintain such a gorgeous and historic building. Smith Charities is extremely deserving of this grant to make the necessary structural and aesthetic repairs to maintain such a gorgeous and historic building.   Thank you,   Lauren Devine, M.Ed & Ed.S.
