Realigning the Main Street sidewalkConversations to-date have included a focus group with abutters, a crowd-sourced fundraising campaign, several safety studies, a pilot project with a temporaryparklet at the mouth of the alley, and lots of conversation.The city is about to undertake a series of accessibility and safety improvements on the City Hall campus that will include a curb extension to make the City Halldriveway and crosswalk safer. With that project about to begin, thinking about the north side of the street is really more important.The Mayor committed a year ago that before moving forward we would do an extensive stakeholder meeting, with outreach to include people who havecontacted us on this project whose contact information we have.WHAT'S NEXT: The next step will depend on ideas and perspectives we hear at the meeting, along with analysis of the existing safety studies and the plannedCity Hall improvements and other data sources.Feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions.
