Northampton APR 2015 final reportNorthampton Local APR(CPA #43B)2015 CPA Report Joint Conservation and Agriculture Commission project The APR program allows the city to purchase Agriculture Preservation Restrictions The APR program has been extremely effective at helping us obtain Agricultural Preservation Restrictions, preserving important farmland, and leveraging matching funds. To date: In 2014, we purchased the Russell APR on 8.6 acres of prime farmland. (CPA $3,400 and leveraging $13,600 in state funds.) In 2015, we purchased the Baye APR on 7.0 acres of prime farmland. (CPA $9,075 and leveraging a Kestrel purchase of the fee land that might later be used for trade land.) In 2016 (although the check was cut in 2015), we will be purchasing the Clark APR on 1 acre of prime farmland. (CPA investment $1,075.) We have an offers outstanding that will probably spend down the remainder of the funds in 2016. Current Status The City is moving forward on other APR purchases. The MOA expires in February 2016 but we will encumber the funds to save them to back up offers we make with cash so that they are serious offers.
