VA Park and Ride Lot EASEMENT ORDER 12_20_2012

Upon the recommendation of the Office of Planning and Development
WHEREAS, On September 6, 2007, City Council authorized the city to accept a long-term lease for a park-and-ride lot at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Leeds (VAMC), that MassDOT
has agreed to build for the City; and
WHEREAS, The VAMC has agreed to allow the park-and-ride lot, but would prefer to do this as an easement instead of a lease;
WHEREAS, Such a park-and-ride lot is consistent with the Sustainable Northampton Comprehensive Plan’s transportation policies and recommendations;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT ORDERED,
The City Council authorizes the Mayor to accept an easement for a park-and-ride lot at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Leeds.
