Now that critical repairs and improvements have been made to stabilize our historic buildings and collections storage areas, we are
ready to address the next phase of assessment and preservation. Specifically we propose to complete three tasks:
1. Conduct professional preservation assessments of the Parsons House and Shepherd Barn in order to generate a detailed plan of
action for each building that will allow us to preserve the buildings and reopen these valuable artifacts to the public.
2. Assess and renovate the side porch on the Shepherd House, which is failing due to a rotted sill. Our intention is to
maintain the porch as much as possible.
3. Continue improving the climate conditions of collections storage areas in the Parsons House and Damon House. The improvements
would include insulation in and around windows, air conditioning in specific spaces, and exterior work to improve drainage away
from the buildings.
