Applicants may present other information that could be persuasive. 5:30 PM: Request for a Local Historic District Certificate of Appropriateness pursuant to Section 195 of the Northampton Code. Proposed work to include chimney reconstruction. Beatrice and Daniel O’Shea, 333 Elm Street, Map ID 24C-044. Application Overview: The application proposes rebuilding of two deteriorated chimneys. Work to include Rebuiling chimneys from below roofline to match existing. Reuse original bricks as condition allows; use like salvage bricks as needed. Mortar to match in color, composition, and hardness. Reflash at roofline. Line flue(s). Install LeMans dampers or seal flues; low profile dampers will not be visible from street. Chimneys are currently painted white, and are proposed to be red brick. Recommendation: The Commission should review design standards for Chimneys as well as Masonry and Stucco. If the Commission agrees that the work is appropriate for the District, a Certificate of Appropriateness, including any conditions or modifications, can be issued.
