The most important information on a cutting plan is the Landowner's objective, as this will determine which trees will be harvested and
which will remain; this decision will also determine the future condition of the forest for decades to come. After having read the
Massachusetts Forest Cutting Plan Information Sheet on page one, indicate your objective by checking the appropriate box below.
® LT — Long -term Forest Management ❑ ST - Short-term Harvest
Planned management of the forest to achieve one or more of the
following objectives: produce immediate and maximize long -term
income, . enhance wildlife habitat; improve recreational opportunities,
protect soil and water quality, or produce forest specialty products.
Harvest of trees with the main intention of producing
short-term income with minimal consideration given to
improving the future forest condition, which often results
in a forest dominated by poor quality and low value specie
I (we) have read the Massachusetts Cutting Plan Information Sheet, and am aware of my (our) management options.
I (we) hereby certify that I (we) have the legal authority to carry out the operation described above.
I (we) certify that I (we) have notified the Conservation Commission in the town in which the operation is to take place and the
abutters of record within two hundred feet of the area to be harvested.
I (we) understand that the volumes and values (Ch61 only) in this plan have not been independently verified by the service forester
upon approval and will report final values and volumes to the Director or his/her agent if the final figures differ from those reported.

Dear Carmine; -
The Natural Heritage and Endangered Species Program (NH ESP) has processed your request for a reconiniendation
regarding the harvesting activities proposed in Forest Cutting Plan 214- 2873 -7 (hereafter termed "the Plan ") and
their coincidence with Estimated IIabitat of Rare Wetlands Wildlife and with High Priority Sites of Rare Species
Habitat (collectively termed "Priority Habitat "). Based on details of the Plan and information in the NI
database, the NHESP has determined that the proposed harvest site coincides with Priority Habitat of the Wood
Turtle (Glyplcmys insculptca). This species is state - listed as Spccial Concern, pursuant to the Massachusetts
Endangered Species Act (WiL c. 131 A) and its implementing regulations (321 CMR 10.00),
The primary conceili about potentially adverse impacts of forest harvesting to the Wood Turtle is direct momility of
individual turtles as a result of crushing (e.g., by motorized vehicle). To avoid adverse impacts to this turtle, the
NHESP recommends that the following actions he taken: .
• During the time period beginning May 16 and ending October 14, avoid use of motorized
vehicles at the landing and in all areas of Stand 3 that are located north of the main skid trail, as
depicted in the boundary and stand -type map of the Plan.
Please copy the NHESP on any amendments to the Plan and on the approved plan for the site. !f you have any
questions about this letter, please contact Jacob Kubel at (508) 389 - 6373,
Sincerely,
id.
