The purpose of this form is to make sure that all project applications applying for Community
Preservation Act funding are eligible for funding. Please refer to Appendix-E in the

Project Summary: Please provide a brief description of the project.
We plan to build a small single family house on this lot and sell it to a first-time
homebuyer who earns less than 60% of the Area Median Income. This homebuyer will
contribute significant sweat equity into the construction of their home. A deed
restriction would keep the home affordable in perpetuity. 1 Garfield Avenue is part of a
six unit Garfield Ave Extension subdivision where Habitat has already built 5 homes
through collaboration with the city of Northampton. 1 Garfield Avenue was the subject of
a design competition by the city of Northampton called “Small Lots, Big Ideas”.
