WORKS HAS BEEN TAKEN ON THIS APPLICATION FOR AN AMENDMENT OF AN
ACTIVE PERMIT BASED ON INFORMATION PRESENTED:
__ Approval of the Stormwater Management Permit Amendment.
X Approval of the Stormwater Management Permit Amendment subject to any
conditions, modifications or restrictions required by the Department of
Public Works (see below)
__ Disapproval of the Stormwater Management Permit Amendment based upon
a determination that the proposed plan, as submitted, does not meet the
purposes set forth in the Northampton Stormwater Management.
Standard Permit Conditions:
1. All clearing, grading, drainage, construction, and development of the proposed Smith
College Athletic Field Improvements shall be conducted in strict accordance with the
previously approved plans and information as referenced in the Stormwater Management
Permit issued by the Northampton Department of Public Works (DPW) on March 26,
2009 and as amended by the following plans and information and as amended by any
conditions attached to this permit amendment.

Specific Permit Conditions:
1. Additional erosion and sediment control measures and details are necessary for the
project including, but not limited to: stabilized construction access (tracking pad), catch
basin protection, erosion control barrier, and other measures as necessary. An Erosion
Control Plan that includes all details and specifications shall be submitted to the DPW for
approval prior to the start of construction.
2. The plans for the Tennis Court Improvements specify proposed grading and paving of the
gravel parking lot southeast of the tennis courts, installation of a catch basin, and repair
of the eroded slope and cleaning of the existing catch basin on the adjacent property.
Additional measures may be necessary to correct the drainage problem to the adjacent
property and clean up the sediment on that property. The applicant should coordinate all
work on the adjacent property with the owner of that property and notify the DPW when
this work is to be started.
