Beaver Brook Bridge 2014 annual CPA report
Beaver Brook Bridge (CPA #54) 2014 CPA Report
Planning and Sustainability with Historical Commission and Conservation Commission
The Beaver Brook Bridge program funds the rehabilitation of the Beaver Brook Bridge
This project will fund the rehabilitation of one of the oldest and most spectacular bridges in
Northampton, the stone arch Beaver Brook Bridge.
In 2014, the project funded:
Engineering and the beginning of bid specifications for the Beaver Brook bridge rehabilitation and
recording a grant agreement necessary to bring in federal matching funds.
Current Status
The project is currently under full design. We expect to complete the design in March and go to bid in
April. Once we open bids we will better understand how much CPA funds the project requires and how
much we can return to CPA. We expect some funds to be returned since the scope of the project has
been reduced from originally envisioned, we can’t predict the true costs until we open bids.
We expect substantial completion by the end of 2015, with the possibility of small punch list items (final
vegetation removal, etc) in 2016.
The delays in this project have been deliberate because they allowed us to use this CPA grant to
leverage an additional $100,000 that will be used on the adjacent bike path.
