The purpose is to implement stewardship of the Connecticut River Greenway—Elwell Section. Specifically, 1) remove invasive plants, 2) do site preparation to develop a small (1-2 acre) community gardens adjacent to the existing farmland to serve River Run Condominiums. Currently, the existing gardens in Northampton and Florence serve the city’s needs for those with easy vehicle access. CPA funding will also work as a match for a community forest stewardship grant that has already been received.
