Malcolm Smith opened the meeting with review of the minutes for both Sept 13
hearings and the August 9 meeting.
Upon motion by Bob Riddle and second by BS, the Board voted unanimously to approve the
minutes.

Malcolm Smith opened the request for Special Permit for additional wall signs at
Cumberland Farms 138 King St, Northampton, 31B-38.
Carolyn Parker, representing Cumberland Farms, described the application and need for signage.
She noted that price signs would be removed and addressed the letter by the abutter Andrew
Smith about night time light levels, impacts to the neighborhood.
Sara Northrup asked about hours of operation.
Parker indicated they were open 24 hours a day.
Northrup asked about light spillover
Parker noted there would be none.
There was no public comment other than the abutter letter submitted.
Upon motion by Bob Riddle and second by Sara Northrup the board voted unanimously to close
the hearing.
Upon motion by Sara Northrup and second by Bob Riddle, the board voted unanimously to grant
the special permit as presented.
