of this building in terms of other buildings within the community. This is a Colonial Revival style house set sideways on its lot to take advantage of the southern exposure and to gain
space on its narrow lot. The house is two-and-a-half stories in height and the main block is approximately five bays wide. The roof extends on the rear or north to first story level
for a Colonial saltbox profile. There is an added wing on the east end of the south south façade and a partially enclosed shed roofed porch that covers the center entry. The shingle-sided
house has a square bay window on its west elevation and dormers on the north side of the roof at second story and attic levels. HISTORICAL NARRATIVE Discuss the history of the building.
Explain its associations with local (or state) history. Include uses of the building, and the role(s) the owners/occupants played within the community. Ernest Schadee is listed in the
1910 street directory for Northampton as living in this house and continuing to live there through 1919. Schadee owned the Star Enameling Works in Northampton. He was followed in the
