Use as much space as necessary to complete the following entries, allowing text to flow onto additional continuation sheets. ARCHITECTURAL DESCRIPTION: Describe architectural features. Evaluate the characteristics of this building in terms of other buildings within the community. Between 1975 and 2010 this row of workers’ housing was altered considerably on the exterior. As it was originally, it is continues to be a two-and-a-half story building with a side gable roof on which are seven shed roof dormers and seven chimneys. The row house is divided into seven units. What has been changed is that a brick veneer has been applied to the formerly clapboard exterior, porches have been removed and adjacent to the entries for each unit oriel windows have been installed. Vinyl siding has been applied to the dormers and to the chimneys and the door surrounds and doors have been replaced. All the windows of the units have been replaced with 1/1 sash. While much of the19th century architectural significance of this building has been lost, its form remains. HISTORICAL NARRATIVE Discuss the history of the building. Explain its associations with local (or state) history. Include uses of the building, and the role(s) the owners/occupants played within the community. From Form B of 1975: “This wooden frame building is one of several units of worker’s housing built near the center of Northampton in the later nineteenth century.” The original owners are listed as Edward Bailey and G.
