Member   ( Elizabeth Silver, Associate Member        Staff: ( Senior Planner, Carolyn Misch    Planning Director, Wayne Feiden    5:30 P.M. David Bloomberg opened the request for a special permit by Jack and Priscilla Finn for Special Permit to erect 2 directional signs larger than allowed by right at 57 King St, Northampton, Map ID 32A-124. David Bloomberg noted that Elizabeth Silver would be the voting member. Jack Finn presented his request for the two signs. He noted the building is setback 50’ from the street and therefore not immediately visible. David Bloomberg asked about sign lighting. Finn described the existing lights and the proposed sign lighting that would be LED within the sign. David Bloomberg asked if the lights would be on a timer. Finn noted that other lights he has go off at 11 PM. There was no public comment. Malcolm Smith asked why illumination was necessary? Jack noted that the signs on abutting parcel are lit and he took down the old Store 24 ground sign that was also lit. Upon motion by Barry Smith and second by Elizabeth Silver, the board voted unanimously to close the hearing. Upon motion by Elizabeth Silver and second by Barry Smith, the Board voted to approve the permit with the condition that the lights be turned off at 11 p.m. Upon motion by Barry Smith and second by Elizabeth Silver, the board voted unanimously to approve the March 8 and February 23 minutes. 5:45 PM adjourn.
