Enclosed please find notification of the Commission's determination. These were provided to the Building Inspector on June 7. The subcommittee determined that both structures are `Significant' in accordance with the Demolition Ordinance. The Commission will now hold a public hearing to determine whether the buildings are "Preferably Preserved," and whether a demolition delay should be implemented. These hearings are set for June 27 at 5:30 pm, in the City Hall Hearing Room, 210 Main Street. A determination as to whether the structures should be Preferably Preserved must be made within fourteen days of the hearing. A `Public Notice' sign must be posted at each property at least seven days prior to the hearing. These signs are available in the Office of Planning and Development, and can be picked up at any time during business hours. The enclosed legal ad must be placed in the pocket on each sign. Section 161 -5 D of the Ordinance lists some evidence that the Commission might consider when making its determination of Preferably Preserved status. These include, but aren't limited to, the buildings' condition, age, role in the streetscape, and construction elements. It would be helpful if you could provide any information you think would be useful for the Commission to review. If these are provided to me the week prior to the hearing, they will be included in packets for members to review in advance. Please let me know if I can provide any assistance prior to the hearing, or if you have any questions or concerns. Thank you- Sarah LaValley Conservation, Preservation & Land Use Planner Enclosures: Demolition Review Application Activity Tracking Sheet, 21 Belmont Avenue Demolition Review Application Activity Tracking Sheet, 27 Belmont Avenue Legal Notice Cc: Louis Hasbrouck, Northampton Building Commissioner -' dl E `• ".
