WHEREAS, the Lower Pioneer Valley Regional Planning Commission
has developed a planning study which recommends the
regionalization of collection and treatment of waste
water from the five communities of Chesterfield, Goshe
Hatfield, Williamsburg, and Northampton; and
WHEREAS', the said planning report has been accepted by the
Massachusetts Division of Water Pollution Control and.
the U.S.. Water - Pollution control agency; and _
WHEREAS, the said planning report has delayed the funding of
the Northampton Wastewater treatment facility; and
WHEREASS?, it is desirable from the point of view of the City of
Northampton to prepare an engineering study and report.

NOW, therefore, be it RESOLVED that the City Council of the City
of Northampton authorizes the Mayor to request Nine
thousand (9,000.00) dollars in state funds to provide
the funds necessary to prepare said engineering study

hereby requests the General Court to enact a special law
AN ACT AUTHORIZING THE CITY OF NORTHAMPTON TO APPROPRIATE
MONEY FOR THE PAYMENT OF, AND TO PAY, CERTAIN TEACHERS CERTAIN
BACK WAGES.
Be it enacted, etc'., as follows::
The City of Northampton is hereby authorized to appropriate
money the payment of, and after such appropriation t of
