I flagged the Bordering Vegetated Wetland adjacent to the project area on 1/24/07, based on criteria in 310CMR10.55(2)(c). The delineation relied principally on the presence a vegetation community of 50% or wore wetland indicator plants and the. presence of wetland hydrology as indicated by Hydric soils or observed saturation. Where all dominant vegetation species were 1ACW- or wetter, wetland hydrology was presumed unless soils showed the contrary. The slope was abrupt, but the wetland typically extendedl-2 feet above the. toe of slope. The wetland edge is marked in the field with sequentially numbered blue flags.. Hydric soils are marked with yellow flags labeled "H", and non-hydric soils are marked with orange flags labeled "NH". Within the wetland there is an intermittent stream which generally follows the toe of the escarpment north and east of the site.' The tributary area of the stream is approximately 39 acres, or far less than 1/2 square mile (320 AC). Therefore, the stream is considered intermittent under 310CMR 10.58(2)(a)(i)c. A map of the tributary area, using the city's S ft. contour topographic mapping is enclosed. Please feel free to forward this information to the Conservation Commission and MA DEP.
