23.331 An Ordinance to Clarify §312-25 Restriction on Trash Collection
ORDINANCE
An ordinance of the City of Northampton, Massachusetts, providing that the Code of Ordinances, City of Northampton, Massachusetts, be amended by amending Section 312-25 to clarify the
hours that trash collection is allowed in various zoning districts.
Be it ordained by the City Council of the City of Northampton, in City Council assembled, as follows:
That section 312-25 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Northampton, Massachusetts, be amended to read as follows:
Section 312-25
The following activities shall not take place in any residential zone of the City between the hours of 10:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m.
Loading or unloading of commercial vehicles.
Collection or distribution of trash, refuse, or recyclable materials.
except for collection services for properties in the downtown Central Business Core District (CBc, dark pink), where there is no time restriction
except for properties in the Florence Village Center Districts (FVC & FVG), where trash collection is allowed between 6 a.m. and 10 p.m.
Construction or demolition activities involving the use of hammers, saws, drills, or power equipment, unless said activities are emergency in nature and necessary for the protection
or preservation of property or the health or safety of a person.
