20.091 An Order to Accept Gift of Labor and Materials to Repair Grave of George Hodestia
Whereas, Historic Gravestone Services of 113 Michael Lane, New Salem, MA, wishes
to provide labor and materials to repair the deteriorated gravestone of George Hodestia, formerly
enslaved citizen and Florence resident, in Park Street Cemetery,
Ordered that,
The Northampton City Council gratefully accepts the donation of labor and materials,
valued at $500, as a gift to the City of Northampton to be used for the restoration of the
gravestone of George Hodestia in the Park Street Cemetery, in accordance with Massachusetts
General Law Chapter 44, Section 53 A (Grants and gifts; acceptance and expenditure).
