Amherst Town Council Rule 5.3 Public Dialogue5.3 Public Dialogue By majority vote, the Council may hold a Public Dialogue session. This session may occur during the hour before the call of order of a regularly scheduled Council meeting. At Public Dialogues the Council, the Town Manager, and any appropriate staff as determined by the Town Manager shall welcome all interested individuals for an informal dialogue session. Public Dialogues are meant to provide an opportunity for members of the public to directly interact with Councilors, the Town Manager, and staff (as determined by the Town Manager). By majority vote of the Council, Public Dialogue sessions may be held at times other than prior to a regular Council meeting and in locations other than Town Hall. All Public Dialogue sessions shall comply with Open Meeting law.
