Blais and others relative to establishing requirements and standards for the construction of certain tiny homes. Public Safety and Homeland Security. The Commonwealth of Massachusetts _______________ In the One Hundred and Ninety-First General Court (2019-2020) _______________ An Act relative to tiny homes. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows: 1 SECTION 1. Section 94 of Chapter 143 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2016 2 Official Edition, is hereby amended by adding at the end thereof the following paragraph:- 3 (s) To incorporate the International Code Council’s Appendix Q into the code of 4 Massachusetts regulations, 780 CMR, for purposes of defining “tiny homes” and establishing 5 requirements and standards for the construction of tiny homes, and to develop and promulgate 6 rules and regulations necessary to administering and enforcing regulation of tiny homes. Any 7 Appendix Q provisions incorporated into the code of Massachusetts regulations shall be updated 8 within 1 year of any revision to the International Residential Code for one and two family 9 dwellings.
