Dear Commissioner Hasbrouck,
I am requesting you review the issue below and issue a determination as soon as possible. I have been
given a card showing that your office signed off the work as complete. I am under agreement to
purchase this property, providing work was done to code.
Issue: Is the deck ledger flashed correctly below the ledger and to code? Was flashing verified as
requested?
It appears there is no deck ledger flashing below the ledger to prevent water from entering the wall
cavity/house joint. Flashing ABOVE ledger appears correct, no flashing is below.
Prior to inspection, this issue, along with how ledger was to be secured was discussed with Mr. Kevin
Ross of your office, requesting specifically that he verify flashing. Email to Mr. Ross on 11/4/19:
