To Whom It May Concern,
I'm writing to support the Northampton Parks and Recreation Department's request for CPC funding to build pickleball
courts in our City.
Pickleball offers physical and social activities to our diverse group of citizens accross all age groups and differing abilities.
Local commerce will benefit from pickleball courts with added revenue brought in from visitors.
The listed towns of Easthampton, Southampton, South Hadley, Westfield, Greenfield, Deerfield, Belchertown, Agawam,
and many more have courts while Northampton continues with the ongoing discussion and planning. Pickleball is the
fastest growing sport in the nation and it will not slow down anytime soon. Let’s make this fun, accessible game a staple in
Northampton. It is also time that Northampton focus on recreation for adults as well as youth.
Thank you,
Mary Marquard
