We are Northampton residents who reside at 71 Higgins Way. We have been playing pickleball at Look Park for more than a year now, and in that time have seen the number of people using the courts increase substantially. The courts at Look Park are in poor condition — so much so that the opening of several of the courts was delayed this past spring and one court is still unusable. To play at Look Park, we must purchase a parking pass and pay a seasonal court fee. The surrounding towns, including Easthampton and Southampton, have pickleball courts in great condition that are free to their residents. Pickleball is a sport that can be played by all ages — there are several players in their 80s, children who come with their parents, and all ages in between. Plus, we have players in wheelchairs who regularly play with us. We hope that new courts will be funded in Northampton. Thanks, Nancy and Ross Vinocur
