Dear Sarah LaValley,
One of the points I made in an earlier letter was how to deal with potential contamination of a
well within a stones throw of the site. I was unable to find any indication that the well had been
tested to ensure that the ground water was not contaminated. The response from the applicant
was that there were no conditions requiring such a test.
Science should inform legal decisions.
I ask the Conservation Commission to remedy this situation. As a start having the well tested for
the contaminants found on the site seems prudent.
