DECISION OF
ZONING BOARD OF APPEALS
At a meeting held on June 25, 1986, the Zoning Board of Appeals
of the City of Northampton voted unanimously to grant the Special Perigit
request of Ronald A. Madejewski, 325 North Main Street, Florence, for the
purpose of constructing a two-family dwelling at property located on the
southerly side of Riverside Drive, Northampton (URB Zone). 1Present and
voting were: Acting Chairman William Brandt, Peter Laband and Sanford Weil,
Jr.
The findings were as follows:
P. Laband found that all of the criteria necessary to grant
a Special Permit have been fulfilled.
S. Weil concurred.
W. Brant also concurred.
The following conditions shall apply:
1. That a gentle swale be created on either side of the property
to direct runoff to the rear of the lot.
2. That a depression/retention area be created in the rear of the
property where additional storm runoff can be directed to.
3. To increase permeability of water, 2 ft. of loam and subsoil
should be excavated and replaced with 3/4" washed stone with
2" of pea stone or filter fabric on top, and then covered with
2-4" of loam.
4. That the parking area and driveway may be gravel/trap rock or
black top.

THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS
The undersigned respectfully petition your honorable body for
permission to install a driveway at a lot on Riverside Drive directly
across from the American Legion Hall. Fifteen (15) foot maximum width
at the street line. Gutter drainage not to be disturbed. All drainage
shall be directed off the driveway surface to adjacent land and not on
the existing roadway. Driveway surface to be paved if the grade of the
proposed driveway exceeds 3% or more.
