DRIVEWAY PERMIT
GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS AND REGULATIONS
1. A "Driveway Permit" is needed in all cases where a new curb
cut, or an alteration to an existing curb cut, is proposed
on a city public way.
2. Said "Driveway Permit" is issued by the Board of Public Works
(B.P.W.) , shall be attached to and become part of the "Build-
ing Permit" issued by the Building Inspector.
3. Prior to the issuance of a "Building Permit" the owner of any
lot to be serviced by a new driveway shall apply to the B.P.W.
for a "Driveway Permit" by completing the pertinent portions
of said permit (attached) . Once the location of said driveway
is approved by the B.P.W. a building permit may be issued.
4. The Building Inspector shall issue no "Occupancy Permit" unless
the driveway to said lot has been approved by the B.P.W.

Permission to install driveway at corner of Hinckley St. and Winslow Avenue
Fifteen (15) foot maximum width at the street line. Gutter drainage not to be
disturbed. All drainage shall be directed off the driveway surface to
adjacent land and not on the existing roadway. Driveway surface to be
paved if the grade of the proposed driveway exceeds 3% or more.

DECISION OF
NORTHAMPTON ZONING BOARD OF APPEALS
At a meeting held on September 20, 1989, the Zoning Board of
Appeals of the City of Northampton voted unanimously to grant
the request of David M. Clark for a Special Permit under the
Provisions of Section 5.2(3) of the Northampton Zoning
Ordinance to allow construction of a two-family dwelling in
a URB District at the corner of Hinckley Street and Winslow
Avenue. Present and voting were Chairman Robert C. Buscher,
M. Sanford Weil, Jr. , and William Brandt.
The Findings were as follows:
The requested use is allowed by Special Permit under the:
Provisions of Section 5.2(3) of the Northampton Zoning
Ordinance.
The requested use bears a positive relationship to the public
welfare.
The requested use will not create undue traffic congestion
or unduly impair pedestrian safety.
The requested use will not overload any municipal systems.
The requested use will not unduly impair the integrity or
character of the district, (there are at least seven other
two-family homes on Hinckley Street) ,and is in harmony with
the general purpose and intent of the ordinance.
