To demolish the historic St. John Cantius Polish church on Hawley Street would be to erase one of the unique architectural treasures
of Northampton. And to replace this unique structure with some more unremarkable condos towering above this unique heritage
neighborhood fills me with a feeling of sadness not only for the loss of an iconic structure but the hole it will leave in the history it
represents and to the thousands of people it brought joy and peace. I ask the owners to please re-examine the reuse of the church,
preferably condos, and to not knock it down.
