The Board of State Examiners of Plumbers and Gas Fitters grants your request for a waiver from
the requirement to provide drinking fountains, with condition, as follows:
1. Provide drinking water stations/dispensers for each set of restroom facilities.
2. Install rough plumbing for future drinking fountain(s) as required by 248 CMR.
Note: Failure to adhere to the above conditions will render this variance grant null and void.
The granting of this request is applicable to this end user and this location only_ All other
plumbing and gas fitting work if applicable shall comply with 248 CMR 3.00 through 10.00 and
all other applicable statutes and Codes. Your attendance at a Board meeting is not required. This
waiver is in effect upon receipt.

The Northampton Board of Health is in receipt of your request to vary from the State Plumbing Code in
accordance with 248 CMR section 10.10 Table 1;
Not install a drinking fountain and substitute with bottled water or a filtered water dispenser
The Northampton Board of Health does not foresee a public health issues and/or public nuisances associated
with this variance request,therefore,the BOH takes no position on variance requests. However, if a public
health nuisance is to be created by the aforementioned variance from the State Piumbing Code,the business
owner will be required to abate such nuisance by installing a drinking fountain.

As required in the Final Construction Control Document, I have reviewed,for conformance to
the code and design concept, shop drawings, samples and other submittals by the
contractor in accordance with the requirements of the construction documents,and found
the work to meet the standards set forth, except for the following non-conforming items:
1. The vertical grab bar has not been installed in the accessible restroom per Interior
Elevation B,sheet A7.2.
2. The exterior HVAC roof mounted ductwork has not been insulated per Sheet HS1,
Specifications Section 23 07 00 HVAC Insulation, Item-M.
3. Vestibule 100A Supply Air Diffuser has not been installed per Contract Document
H1.1 HVAC Plan.
The non-conforming items shall be provided and installed by the General Contractor,
including required blocking and necessary accessories to achieve a secure, compliant
installation. The Contr-c onias been instructed to complete this installation prior to
