Dear Ms. Misch,
I am writing with concern about the planned major project at 175 Jackson St.
While I understand the reasoning behind infilling, 175 Jackson St. is a questionable spot for this practice. Within an area
of less than a quarter of a square mile, there are already five existing apartment communities: Hathaway Farms (73
Barrett St.), Pheasant Run (72 Barrett St.), Aster Fields (80 Barrett St.), the new set of condos at 95 Barrett St, and
Hampshire Heights. That's a huge number of households crammed into a small area. It taxes the neighborhood with all
the traffic, energy consumption, etc. of those many households. The proposed additional five households on a small bit of
land increase an already overloaded burden on neighborhood infrastructure.
With respect, I ask you to consider declining to permit this project in an already overly crowded corner of residential
Northampton.
Thank you for your time.
