Dear Mr. Omasta,
I have reviewed the building permit application for work at the Northampton Athletic Club at 306 King Street. I have approved the permit application.
The Architectural Access Board Regulations, 521 CMR require that all new work must be accessible. The regulations also require that accessible parking spaces meeting code requirements
be provided in any lot having more than 5 spaces.
I can’t be certain that the counters shown on the plans comply with the regulations. It looks like they do but I wanted to send along a copy of section 7 (retail establishments) for
reference. We will check the counter at the final inspection.
Also, I think the designated accessible spaces in the parking area may need to be relocated. I realize this is not a part of this project, but the AAB regulations for parking must be
followed at all times. I have had conversations with
I am also waiting for Fire Department approval for the sprinkler system; I don’t know if Warehouse Mechanical has been in touch with them directly but I haven’t seen any plans.
