Dear Mr. Snow,
I have reviewed the plans and building permit application for renovations and alterations at 225
King Street in Northampton. I have approved the plans and issued the building permit. You can pick up
the permit card and approved plans at our office.
I did not see information about a compliance method as detailed in the 2009 IEBC chapter 1,
section 101.5. I am assuming the work is being done in accordance with IEBC chapter 3, Prescriptive
Compliance method.
The plans indicate new site lighting but did not include details or a photometric plan. The City of
Northampton lighting ordinance has detailed requirements for exterior lighting. I will send a copy of the
ordinance. We require an as-built photometric plan before we issue a certificate of occupancy for the
building.
