Re: Sylvester Road driveway, Scott Keiter
I have met with Scott Keiter regarding a proposed driveway for a home he is
building off of Sylvester Road. Scott and I had communicated earlier this year
regarding the grades that were exceeding 10% but not over 12% on the driveway for
the home he was looking to construct. After a review of the plans I provided
comments regarding emergency access. One item that was discussed was
residential sprinklers given the complexity of the driveway.
Since then, Mr. Keiter had an engineer make design changes to the driveway
incorporating my earlier comments to improve the drive for emergency access. After
reviewing the new plans for access the fire department is not looking for the
requirement of residential sprinklers from the planning board.
I did have a conversation with Mr. Keiter regarding residential sprinklers and how
the fire department encourages installations as they enhance the life safety of a
structure.
